Rumors, rumors, rumors abound

The China adoption scene sure has been filled with rumors the last couple weeks with very few actual facts. There are rumors within rumors. There are rumors about the rumors. I have come to the emotional spot that I am keeping tabs of what people are saying but am not going to believe anything until either our agency says that its happenning or I see it happening.
I have heard rumors that China is going to start enforcing their policies more, such as weight restrictions on adoptive parents. China actually does not currently have any weight restrictions in their guidelines, so this would involve them coming out with new rules. That is not to say they wouldn’t but when they do then we will worry about it.
One fact is that the adoption process is slowing down. Within this fact where the majority of the rumors are flying around. It may be a long term slow down, it may just be a “bubble” of low paperwork ready babies and will speed back up in a couple months. Some say it is because the CCAA is trying to slow down the process for some unknown reason, because they are moving, or because they are running out of babies. No one on the internet seems to really know what is going on (and from what I have seen of “official” agency announcements conflicting between agencies I wonder if they know). This whole process is at the mercy of the Chinese government.
I know I would like for this just to be a short slow down and then things speed up in a month or two, but only time will tell.
For those of you that have found your way to this blog from the forums please keep this in mind- don’t ignore the information others share, but don’t pin all your emotions on these rumors until YOU know that it is fact- this is such an emotional process and the rumors really can put artificial peaks and lows into the ride.
