I went to my first actual meeting with the local support group- R-China Angels. Starla and I did go to a Harvest Moon Festival back in October which was the first time we got to meet the good folks there. Starla was not able to go with me tonight because she fell and hurt her leg and back at work. She will be ok but is a little sore right now.
Anyway, the group is great and all the little girls are absolutely adorable- no kidding. I got to see our new friends, The Clapp’s, and their Elizabeth. This was the first time I got to see their precious daughter in person but I felt like I knew her already though from following their journey so close on their website.
I was able to talk to many people at different stages in the adoption process, from still paperchasing to those who are back home with their precious children. I sat with some couples that are still waiting to travel, one is traveling in the next month, the other is still waiting for referral.
I am hoping Starla can make it with me next month.

PS. As a side note- I am even less sure now when we are going to get our 171. I know of someone who got theirs in 6 weeks about 3 weeks ago, and I just read of another couple who just got theirs after 12 weeks. I see no pattern to the way this paper comes, I am hopeful it will be sooner, I am afraid if it does take 12 weeks that is going to through our travel into 2007.
