Weekly Update | Bringing Mikayla Home

Weekly Update

Wow, how slow the time goes. I thought it would take a few months for time to slow down this much, but it seems like we been waiting months already and it has only been 19 days.I did accomplish a bunch around the house on my week off. Let me preface by saying I am NO carpenter so everything I did was very much a labor of love :) I built some shelves the baby’s room that turned out pretty nice. I enjoyed doing it though it was sort of frustrating (like I said I am not a carpenter). The closet project did answer a question for me that I have been trying to decide- I am ordering, and not building, a wood shed now. I also fixed a loose light switch/electrical outlet in the bathroom that the former owners had monkey rigged. I moved the whole outlet down which left a large hole in the drywall that I then spackled and Starla painted to match the texture of the rest of the paint job- it actually looks very good (thanks to Starla’s help).I managed to get a couple things identified in the home study done outside too so it was a very good week off.I might be coming off of shift rotation in the next couple weeks- I have been on 12 hour rotating shifts for 3 years now and it is too much. There is a day shift position opening up and it is between me and one of my coworkers. We will be interviewing for the job in the next week- cross your fingers and pray for me, I really need to come off this shift. But that also means no more productive whole weeks off anymore :( Anyway, that is about all that is going on right now- I have attached a few pictures - I love the picture with Mikayla’s clothes hanging in the closet- so cute.
