Update

Well, sorry I haven’t posted in awhile, I have a few things to update but not too much.
First off we received the “brown envelope” yesterday from USCIS in Guangdong, China. This is not a significant step as some people don’t even receive this paperwork. It is just them confirming that they have received our paperwork and some other papers to fill out when we get to China. Like I said, it is not significant, but it was nice to receive something during our “extended” wait.
We have been buying and shopping though. We bought an Eddie Bauer highchair the other day- it is actually a Cherry wood color, the only one we could find in that color was at Target, I couldn’t even find it online anywhere. We are currently shopping cribs and room themes and have pretty much decided on a very nice Bisque color crib but we are still working on the bedding.
Now for the not so good news- the time frame definitely does not look like it will be speeding up in the near future- in fact it appears to still be slowing down. The current wait is 12 months (remember when we started it was 8-9 months) and there are predictions that it could go up to 16+ months. With that said, it could speed right back up, this process is anything but predictable. I think we are going to make the best of the wait and go to the movies, maybe take an overnight trip or two, play some online games, etc. Just have fun.
