Mikayla’s Own Chair

We bought a chair for Mikayla at the Covered Bridge Days. It was so cute and a perfect “time out” chair (just kidding). The Covered Bridge Days is a celebration of the wooden Covered Bridge which was built in 1882 and is still in use today. Actually you can still walk through it but in the last couple years they have stopped car traffic. The little dam in the foreground actually broke a couple years ago due to some flooding, but they are going to fix it in the next 2 years. The kids really enjoy running across and playing on this dam when the water level is not too high- nice on a hot, humid, TN summer day.At the festival there were alot of vendors that were selling home made crafts (which is where we got the chair). They had music and fireworks.
We will be going to Jonesboro today (Tennessee’s oldest town). It is a really neat little town with lots of little shops. They are doing their 4th of July fireworks tonight and since we are both working on the 4th this will be the only chance we have to see big fireworks (other then the ones I buy, hehe).
On the adoption front, in June China managed to get 14 days worth of referals done for the month. This represents a small increase in time (month before I think it was 9 days of referrals). They are now done with June ‘05 (which makes the current wait exactly 12 months). Indications are that July ‘05 is another huge month for dossiers sent to China, so July may take them a couple months to get through too. After that we are hopeful that the speed of things will pick back up. Not much else to report.
Please keep us in your prayers, we just pray that our Mikayla is healthy and comfortable while she waits for us. We pray that God will put his arms around her and let her know that we are coming. Please pray for all the children in the orphanges and pray for their care takers to have the strength and knowledge to take good care of them.
