6 months down

We all know that this is a rollercoaster- with emotional ups and downs as you watch events unfold in the process. This week was sort of a downer. For whatever reason the CCAA decided to send referrals without announcing this to the agencies. One agency had even called CCAA apparently AFTER the referrals had been sent, but before they were received by the agency, and was told that there was no news yet. From what I have seen over the past year this is very peculiar, as usually there is some word ahead of time. This was confusing, but didn’t really bring me down in itself. The second thing is that this time there were only 9 days worth of referrals (we think, the CCAA won’t even confirm what the cut off date is this time, it’s not like it is a secret because we will all know in the next couple days). It was thought that July 05 was a smaller month then the monster month of August. October is suppose to be another monster month so one can only guess how long that will take them.
The wait is actually not so bad, it’s the not knowing is what is killing me. If they would come out and say, “Look, there are some issues and the wait is expected to take 18 months” then fine, I could wait it out easier. Remember when we started we thought we would be 2 months from our referral right now, and now we have NO clue when that will be. Could be 6-18 more months. There are signs that they could speed back up (new building, better computer systems, more employees, etc), but they are not which is what is confusing.
As far as the wait itself- we have been starting to get busy working on Mikayla’s room. I have started to slow back down again, I only want to have it ready 3 or 4 months at the most before we bring her home. The extended time really does give a chance to save more vacation time and money- both are good things. There are silver linings here.
Well, gotta go. Hope to have better news (or some kind of news) soon.
