Out of Review?

Someone in our LID group has wrote to CCAI to ask if we were out of the review room at the CCAA. The response was:
” . . . I wanted to let you know that we do believe our February, 2006 families have moved through the review room at this time. We believe our March, 2006 dossiers are currently being reviewed.”
If this is accurate (which at this point I have no reason to believe otherwise) then this is really great news. This means that the CCAA has looked at our paperwork and have decided that we are fit to adopt a child from China. Like I said before this is really just a technicality since 99.9% of dossiers are approved but it is also a huge milestone.
Next stop in the process will be to reapply for our 171H in the next couple months since ours will expire due to the long wait. This will consist of another homestudy, fingerprints, background check, trip to Nashville, etc. Then another long 6-8 week wait for the USCIS to reapprove all the paperwork. Man, the red tape you have to go through….
Have a GREAT NEW YEAR. Lets hope that 2007 is “The Year of the Mikayla”.

Here’s a BIG sigh of relief for you both! Congrats on this major milestone. I agree, the year of Mikayla sure sounds better than the ‘year of the pig’!
Just dropping by to catch up.
It’s been a while since I check out your new site. Right after we saw you guys at the airport when the Swindlers came home, Dave had some very unexpected surgery on New Years Day. He had a large gallstone that had completely blocked the entrance to the gallbladder.
Not exactly a celebration that we anticipated, but thanks to a very talented Dr. (Messerschmidt) they found the problem asap and we are grateful it’s over! Happy New year to you!
Susan.
