Adoption and weather

Not much going on with the adoption front currently. The CCAA has been making the rounds to different countries. Seems like basically they are saying that things will continue as they are for a while but they are also reinforcing that the International Adoption program will remain open.
They continue to say that the problem is not enough paper ready babies. Here is the big news to me though- the reason that was given to our agency for the lack of paper ready babies is that the SWI directors do not feel that $3000 is enough money anymore. That is the fee that was charged 15 years ago and it has never changed. Obviously $3000 does not go as far as it used to. I would gladly pay more to get our daughter home sooner. The other problem seems to be since the Hague Convention has gone into effect in China, the amount of paperwork that the SWI’s have to do for each baby is alot more then it used to be. Basically the incentives are very few for the Directors to send paper ready babies in. Well other then the incentive of GIVING A BABY A HOME!! I do understand the problem but I also want to see these babies get a home.
The weather sure is getting hot and humid here. It is this time of year that I am glad I have an office job. My poor wife though works in the weather most days out of the week. I sure do feel bad for her, she is a tough one and puts me to shame. Can’t wait to come up with a vacation plan for this year.
