Bahamas Baby

In October, Starla and I took our first cruise and went to the Bahamas. We figured we might as well take one last vacation with just the two of us and it was an ABSOLUTE blast! We have been bitten by the cruise bug now and want to take many more cruises. I hope we can swing it with our daughter, it was so fun.
We got to Port Canaveral and it started to rain, but that gave way to a beautiful rainbow as we were leaving port. What an encouraging sign that we were going to have a fun and safe cruise.
The first night at sea was pretty rough and we were concerned that Starla would get sea sick (she gets sick surfing the internet so we weren’t sure how she would do on the boat) but with ear patches and Dramamine she held up well, a little quiziness a couple times but overall well. We went out and checked out the boat, lots and lots to do and LOTS AND LOTS TO EAT! That first night we didn’t do much, just ate and hung out a bunch in our cabin. We had a suite with our own balcony so it was a very nice place to hang out and relax.
We went to sleep and woke up in Freeport, Bahamas. This is a little bit of a run down part of the Bahamas but it was a fun stop anyway. We ate some breakfast and then took a taxi to Port Lucaya and did some shopping and some gambling. We went and walked down on the white sand beach for about 5 min (and that was all the beach time we had on this trip) and when it started to rain we headed back to the taxi area, with Starla stopping to shop a couple times. When we got back to the boat we ate and then just hung out. In this picture Starla and I stopped for a drink.
Next stop was Nassau, Bahamas. What a wonderful stop that was. The water was so blue and clear, it was BEAUTIFUL! We went out on a shore excursion that was called “Power Scuba”. The water was on the rough side but it was a blast, think about snorkeling but you have a littel Sea Doo “torbedo” that you control and it pulls you around so you don’t have to fight the current, you just stick your head under the water, pull the trigger on the Sea Doo and look at the water life. It was a blast. When we got back to land, Starla did some shopping, I got to get my digs at Hard Rock Cafe Nassau, we took a horse drawn buggy ride around the town and then we went back to the boat.
Our last day was a day at sea, which again we took advantage to just relax and… you guessed it… eat! Just enjoyed being on vacation, being at sea and sitting on our balcony, and just hanging out. This vacation was one of the best we have ever had and we look forward to taking more cruises- next time it might have to be on Disney Cruise Lines though
One more thing, each day our stateroom steward would make little towel animals to put on our bed, each night was something different, an elephant, a swan, a rabbit.
